“Cosy rooms. Good food.
Discover South Tyrol. That’s Calva.”
Our apartments and B&B in Malles
The Vinschgau is a little wild, charmingly authentic, and full of contrasts. It combines the best of Alpine and Mediterranean influences. And right in the middle: the Calva apartments and B&B in Malles, at 980 m above sea level. Our house lies in the heart of the village, making you part of local life. Close to the Ortler mountain, Lake Resia – the famous Home of Outdoor with its sunken tower – the Stelvio Pass Road and Stilfserjoch, as well as Glorenza, South Tyrol’s smallest city, and the Swiss border. Nature experiences and cultural highlights? They start right outside your apartment door.
How Calva got its name: The name has a story. One that begins just outside our door. Calven, or Chalavaina in Rhaeto-Romanic, refers to the narrow valley passage between the Münstertal in Switzerland and the Vinschgau Valley. The forest nearby, right by Laudes, is known locally as the Calva Forest. And although a bloody battle once took place there in 1499, things are thankfully much more peaceful today. At Calva, battles have been replaced by good food, laughter, and shared moments.
